CAY HILL: In the interest of public health and in an effort to be proactive in minimizing the transmission of the virus, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) is suspending all patient visiting hours from Thursday April 2nd, 2020 until further notice.

CAY HILL: In an effort to ensure patient privacy at all times, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) reminds the public that it is not allowed to take any photos or videos while on SMMC premises, this includes the parking lot.

CAY HILL: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent travelling restrictions imposed worldwide, one of the consequences is a possible extension of the original construction timeline for St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH). However, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) and the main contractor are exploring avenues for acceleration of certain aspects of the project in order to avoid or minimize the impact.

In light of the first official confirmed COVID-19 case on St. Maarten, who is currently in home isolation, the SMMC Outbreak Management Team (OMT) has decided to increase the mitigating efforts in possible exposure to the virus and to keep SMMC’s care capacity at the highest level in case of confirmed COVID-19 case(s) needing admittance to SMMC.

SMMC’s Outbreak Management Team (OMT) has enacted precautionary measures which are taken with the objective to limit the possible exposure to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in order to continue to ensure the safety of SMMC’s patients, staff and visitors alike, which includes a pre-screening at SMMC’s main entrance and at the entrance of SMMC’s Care Complex.
