Our Radiology Department provides diagnostic imaging services to patients. Patients receive evaluations and treatments using a range of imaging technologies including X-rays, echography, computerized tomography (CT) scans including cardiac CT, and mammograms using our GE Senographe Pristina Mammography system that provides 2D and 3D scans, interventional radiology, and ultrasound- and CT-guided procedures. Recently, we opened our state-of-the-art MRI suite, allowing us to provide MRI services to our patients and henceforth being able to expand neurology services. The clinic is staffed by radiologists, who are trained to interpret diagnostic images and diagnose a wide range of conditions, and other medical professionals who provide support and care for patients.

Dr. Sander Bodewitz earned his medical degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As a medical doctor, he worked in several locations, amongst which Aruba and St. Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg, where he followed his training to become a radiologist. After working as a radiologist for more than 8 years at Waterland Ziekenhuis in Purmerend, he chose to broaden his horizon and became the co-founder and owner of De Rontgendokters, a private radiology practice targeted at providing patient-friendly and affordable radiological care in The Netherlands. In 2019, he came to Sint Maarten to work as an all-round radiologist at SMMC where he was involved in the introduction of the MRI scan in 2021.
Dr. Rodriguez holds a degree in Medicine from the Dr. Serafín Ruíz de Zárate Medical University (1992) and a specialization in Radiology from the Arnaldo Milian University Hospital (1995), both in Santa Clara, Cuba. From 2001 to 2003, he worked as a Specialist at the Polokwane-Mankweng Hospital Complex, in Polokwane, South Africa carrying out medical diagnostics such as Conventional X rays, Ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, and general interventional procedures. During the last seven years, he worked as a Specialist in Imaging at the Cira Garcia International Clinic in Havana, Cuba, while also being an Assistant Professor of Imaging at the Finlay Albarran Faculty of Medicine and as Secretary of the Cuban Society of Imaging before moving to St. Maarten to join our Radiology Department.
