A diabetic foot is a condition when the health of the foot is at risk caused by chronic elevated sugar levels in the blood. With diabetes as one of the largest health problems globally, and on St. Maarten in particular, this problem need attention by the local community, especially the diabetic.

Colorectal cancer is a cancerous growth throughout any part of the colon to the rectum. It has devastating complications; bleeding, obstruction of the colon, breaking down of the wall of the colon and spread to other organs especially the liver. In 72% of patients with colorectal cancer, there is liver metastasis.

Dr. Maite Gil-Gonzalez is a Nephrologist working at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for the past year. Having worked in Spain, she brings to the SMMC 17 years of experience in nephrology, particularly hemodialysis treatment.
