Urologists of the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) recently performed a complex surgical procedure called a ‘Laparoscopic Nephrectomy’.

St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) has closed one of its open tenders with the signing of the contract for the installation of new standby generators. The tender was finalized on July 19, with the contract being awarded to Dynaf after a thorough evaluation of all bids submitted.

The St. Maarten Medical (SMMC) is implementing measures in an effort to reduce the current waiting list at the SMMC Eye Care Clinic. Since the opening of the Eye Care Clinic at the SMMC Care Complex in September of last year, there has been a tremendous uptick in the demand for Ophthalmology (Eye Care) services locally which has resulted in a waiting list for patients.

The St. Maarten Heart and Stroke Foundation (SHSF) in collaboration with St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC), the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF) and Soualiga Medical Practice invites the public to enjoy an educational event titled “Life After a Stroke” on Saturday, July 6th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the White and Yellow Cross in St. John’s Estate.

In order to foster stability and to create continuity in the organization while remaining fully transparent on its way to transform to the new St. Maarten General Hospital, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) signed a remuneration regulation with its medical staff.
