The St. Maarten Heart and Stroke Foundation (SHSF) in collaboration with St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC), the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF) and Soualiga Medical Practice invites the public to enjoy an educational event titled “Life After a Stroke” on Saturday, July 6th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the White and Yellow Cross in St. John’s Estate.

The Board of Directors and the Supervisory Council of St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) has taken note of the recent (political) developments stemming from the 2019 budget debate.

In order to foster stability and to create continuity in the organization while remaining fully transparent on its way to transform to the new St. Maarten General Hospital, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) signed a remuneration regulation with its medical staff.

This week Men’s Health Week is celebrated around the world leading up to Father’s Day. The purpose of Men’s Health Week is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men. Going to the doctor plays an important part of maintaining overall health and wellness.

St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) recently started Pulmonology services (which is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the lungs) within the newly constructed multi-purpose clinic which is being shared with Urology and Neurology.
