Management and Staff of St. Maarten Medical Center congratulate the Leo Club with their 30th anniversary. The Leo Club is a youth division of the Lions Club geared to encourage youths to develop leadership qualities by participating in social service activities.
SMMC appreciates the longstanding relationship with the Lions and Leo Club and have been privileged to receive many donations throughout the years. The first donation of the Leos was a wheel chair to a physically challenged child. 30 years later, they are able to donate 18 wheel chairs to the SMMC.
The distribution of the wheelchairs is as followed; 2 oversized and 3 regular sized wheelchairs will be received in the emergency room. The dialysis department will receive 1 regular sized, the Obgyn ward, 3 regular sized and the Medical/Surgical ward will receive 2 oversized and 7 regular sized wheelchairs.
For this important and much needed contribution, we thank you Leo Club.
The donations of these wheel chairs are not only a gift to St. Maarten Medical Center; it is an investment in your community. Your donation will assist in creating a comfortable experience for our patients who will use them. We encourage you, as a youthful club, to continue investing your time and resources in your community.
SMMC also thanks Supervisor Outpatient Nurse Cijntje for coordinating with the Leo Club for the donations of these wheel chairs. Thank you, Nurse Cijntje, for your extra effort in serving the needs of our patients.
St. Maarten Medical Center appreciates the extra effort of our staff, and the generosity of our community clubs and groups. This support has contributed tremendously to who we are and how we have been equipped to care for our patients.
We look forward to strengthening our relationship as we serve together the needs of our community.
Thank you very much for your support.
