SMMC HELD THANKS GIVING CEREMONY

SMMC HELD THANKS GIVING CEREMONY

CAYHILL - The St. Maarten Medical Center held a Thanks Giving Ceremony to commemorate twenty two years since having opened its doors to serve the community. Though the official anniversary of the institution falls later in the year, March 17th marks the beginning of service for the institution.

One day after the anniversary, on the grounds where the expansion for the hospital is expected to be built, Prime Minster Sarah Wescot- Williams, religious leaders and invited guests joined with current and retired employees of SMMC to give thanks prayerfully to God for twenty two years of service.

Throughout the years, many have had opinions of how SMMC should be led. Manager Patient Care Antonio Pantophlet rightly encouraged that SMMC should, “Put God in the midst and let Him decide how SMMC will run.”

Prime Minister commended the appropriateness of giving thanks for where SMMC has come and where they are today. She thanked the employees for their belief in, faith and commitment to their work and encouraged them to continue to make a difference.

“Work hard, be zealous, diligent, compassionate and long suffering, for the least you do unto these patients you do to Jesus Christ” were the words of Reverend Nichola Barrett Glasgow who further encouraged SMMC employees to continue giving safe and quality health care to the people of St. Maarten and its community.

The prayer ceremony was an important aspect of celebrating the motivation, dedication and coalition of the employees of St. Maarten Medical Center during its twenty-two years of establishment. Giving Thanks will have a continued focus within SMMC as the institution continues to grow to better serve the people of St. Maarten and its neighboring territories.
