Your Profile:
As a Project Procurement Associate, you oversee and execute operational and tactical level procurement activities for the SMGH project. This role involves hands-on collaboration with various departments, managing timelines, and ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and/or services. This individual should be highly motivated, detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of Business Administration, Procurement, or related field and/or certification in Project Management, Procurement and/or Change Management is an asset;
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience on a tactical level in procurement administration and/or management, supply chain at a national or international level in dealing with procurement practices;
  • Proven experience in the usage of ERP and Microsoft Office software packages and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages;
  • Fluency in written and oral English is essential.

Tasks:

  • Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with SMMC rules and regulations, policies and strategies;
  • Conduct market research to determine reliable sources of medical equipment, furniture, fittings and consumables by using existing global market channels and other services;
  • Ensure that procurement, delivery, installation and commissioning timelines are established and met within budget;
  • Maintain vendor relationships and a database, ensuring the effective use of the system to record the listing, updating, evaluation and monitoring of the performance of vendors;
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) is an ambitious and growing hospital organization on St. Maarten. With more than 425 FTE’s, 28 Specialists and a capacity of 80 beds, we continuously strive to ensure safe, quality health care. Our primary service area of St. Maarten, Statia and Saba, represents a total population of approximately 60.000 people, constituting a multi-cultural mix with more than 100 different nationalities. In addition, we also offer health care services to the two million visitors annually. SMMC has started the construction of the new St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) to expand its services in order to accommodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors and neighboring islands. The new hospital is planned to be operational in 2026.
