REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

Your Profile:
As a Registered Nurse, you provide nursing care, coordinate patient care, team activities, and the care plan for assigned patients, while utilizing the nursing process, in order to provide optimal care within the general guidelines and predetermined service of the hospital. Our Registered Nurses are expected to be enthusiastic, patient-centered and willing to take on the challenge of transition and growth as our hospital expands.

 Requirements:

• A Registered Nurse Diploma/MBO level 4;
• One (1) year work experience in a similar position;
• Basic Life Support (BLS) diploma;
• Willingness to work shifts including nights and weekends;
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office;
• Good command of the English Language, comprehension, or other languages is an asset.

Tasks:

• Carries out basic and advanced technical nursing procedures within professional standards, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided, by comparing patient’s response and observable outcomes;
• Oversees and carries out the care of hospitalized patients dealing with a broad range of medical and surgical-related health issues, as well as assisting their families with the concerns regarding the care of their loved ones.

Our primary service area of St. Maarten, Statia, and Saba, represents a total population of approximately 60.000
people, constituting a multi-cultural mix with more than 100 different nationalities. In addition,  we also offer health care services to two million visitors annually.

SMMC has started the construction of the new St. Maarten General Hospital (SMGH) to expand its services in order to accommodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors, and neighboring islands. The new hospital is planned to be operational in 2023t5.
