Cay Hill- The first baby born at the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for 2013 arrived shortly after the New Year began. Joel Eljiah Blake was born to Paulette and Dean Blake at 2:27am on January 1st, 2013. He weighed 2770 grams with 47 cm in length.
Management and Staff at SMMC congratulate the proud new parents with the arrival of their baby boy.
By means of a normal spontaneous delivery, baby Joel was delivered by midwife Nicoline Van der Velden. OB/Gyn Nurses Marilva Plet and Andrea Algernon assisted with the delivery.
The baby received gift baskets from the St. Maarten Medical Center, Divico, Manriques and Caprilles and Penny’s Department Store. He also received a photo shoot from Kennedy’s Photo Studio.
The parents encourage the public to put their confidence in the care provided at SMMC. Paulette says, “I was confident and the care was exceptional.” They express their gratitude for the care at SMMC and gifts received. They give thanks also to God for the birth of their newborn boy.
