What we offer:
Our hospital has an ICU/CCU department, a cardiology outpatient clinic, with a department for bicycle stress tests, echocardiography, ambulatory blood pressure measurements and Holter evaluations. Further, a pacemaker technician is at hand 24/7 to assist with implantations and who conducts pacemaker and ICD checks independently. You will work together with an experienced colleague, who is permanently employed by our organization. Also, you will work together with a team of Cardiologists from the Netherlands who offer there services at the hospital on rotational basis. We offer a fulltime (or part-time) contract for three years. If you are interested for a shorter period of time we also encourage you to apply.
You are an all-round registered Cardiologist with specific knowledge and experience in pacemaker implantations. You are willing to work in a small team, are very flexible and have an affinity for a multi-cultural community. Providing quality care is of utmost importance as well as maintaining the continuity of care for our patients. You are enthusiastic about your job and willing to actively contribute to the daily operation of our Cardiology department and the further developments of our organization.

About our hospital:
Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) is an ambitious and growing hospital organization on Sint Maarten. With more than 300 employees, 24 specialists and a capacity of 69 beds. We continuously strive to ensure safe, quality health care. Our primary service area, St. Maarten, Statia and Saba, represents a total population of approximately 60.000 people, constituting a multi-cultural mix with more than 100 different nationalities. In addition, we offer health care services to the visiting tourists, which include annually more than 2 million cruise ship tourists.
SMMC is on the verge of realizing a new hospital building, to expand its services in order to accomodate the increased care demand of the people of St. Maarten, its visitors and neighboring islands. The new hispital is planned to be operational in 2023.
